Our community is operated under USDA Rural Development (RD) and the Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program (LIHTC), within Section 42 of the Internal Revenue Code. This program is designated to facilitate the housing needs of very low, low and/or moderate income individuals and families. This program is not connected with Section 8 although applicants with Section 8 travel vouchers or certificates may apply for residency.
Residency in all of the apartments at Silver Lake Meadows is limited to those households having very low, low and/or moderate income. In addition to standard wages, income includes monies received from many sources such as alimony, child support, pensions and social security, etc. Listed below are the current (2020) maximum allowable incomes (by household size) for Wyoming County:
1 person: $29,700 Annual Gross Income
2 person: $33,960 Annual Gross Income
3 person: $38,220 Annual Gross Income
4 person: $42,420 Annual Gross Income
5 person: $45,840 Annual Gross Income
6 person: $49,260 Annual Gross Income

Please bring with you a copy of your birth certificate, social security card, and picture ID when returning your application. All information on income provided by applicants must be verified before occupancy. This qualification and certification process must also be completed annually upon renewal.
