A 2020 RBJ Women of Excellence Award Nominee, Certified National Compliance Professional (NCP), and NYS Licensed Real Estate Agent, Sue Ellen is a seasoned veteran with over 29 years of experience managing operations in the multifamily housing industry. A nominee for the U.S. Department of HUD Housing Counseling Federal Advisory Committee (HCFAC), she was honored with a HUD Distinguished Service Award and HUD Community Service Award. She has a rich mix of property management, contract administration, grant writing, team building, community outreach, marketing, and strategic management experience.
Sue Ellen specializes in the management of residential, market/conventional, senior, student housing, multi-use residential-commercial, and affordable housing, including HUD properties, project-based Section 8, Section 236, RAD, and BMIR; LIHTC, HOME, USDA RD, HCR, and ESSHI Supportive Housing. She has a proven track record in project compliance, including HUD MOR, REAC Inspections and Appeals, HFA, HCR, and USDA RD Compliance Visits.
She is well-versed and certified in Fair Housing, and she handles reasonable accommodations and modifications with care, in loving memory of her late son, who had multiple disabilities. She has been instrumental in the development of environmental, safety, and preventative maintenance programs for property management companies, and she is experienced in U.S. Dept. of Energy (DOE) Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) and NYSERDA Grant administration.
Sue Ellen has written and administered EIV Policies, Tenant Selection Plans, Management Plans, AFHMPs, FEMA Disaster Recovery and HUD Homelessness Initiatives, Supportive Housing Management & Operating Plans (MOPs), U.S. Dept. of HUD Super NOFA Grants, including a Multi-Family Housing Drug Elimination Program Grant. She was recognized by HUD for establishing the first HUD Neighborhood Networks Center in New York State. In addition to an NCP designation, Sue Ellen is trained in REAC Inspections and FEMA Disaster Recovery, and holds certifications in STAR, C5P, COS, and Fair Housing.
