Rochester’s Cornerstone Group, Ltd. and the Buffalo Federation of Neighborhood Centers have partnered on an 84-unit senior, mixed-use complex in the City of Buffalo. The project entails a newly constructed four-story building being built adjacent to a 16,000 square-foot historic settlement center. Rehabilitation of the 100+ year old structure has been completed and is being used for community services, providing support to the residents of Westminster Commons. Evans Bank will be opening a branch at the building. The capital stack for this project layers many funding sources including low-income housing tax credits, state and federal historic tax credits, Homeless Housing Assistance Program funding and NYS Office of Mental Health capital dollars. In addition, there are several NYS debt issues, low-interest loans, as well as City of Buffalo HOME funds.
